Nunwick Golf Day
The annual golf day took place on the 26 September at Penrith Golf Club followed by a meal at the Highland Drove and social evening.
The day is a fun day and many thanks goes to the organiser and handicapper supreme Chris Rebanks for his efforts.
Eight teams of 3 players took part in the stableford competition with the best 2 net scores counting on each hole.
The winning score was a very respectable 69 points returned by the team of Peter Tolmie, Andrew Collin and Keith Buckle. A close second were Ian Brown, Trevor Wilson and John Mounsey with 67 points. Third on a card play off over the last 6 holes were Jon Stafford, David Tweddle and Simon Peet with 64 points. Two teams recorded a score of 7 on a hole.
Seven out of the eight teams were within 10 points of each other, alas Chris Rebanks failed again to win the competition he organises by filling what is becoming his normal position last! Never mind Chris there is always another year to look forward to.
The best individual return was 37 points for Alan Dickson. A number of individual prises were also presented for nearest the pins ( Chris did win one of these) and the longest drive on the 18th went to Simon Malpas.
